| Welcome to CAP! One thing that you
will find in CAP is no lack of procedures. One of the most
important procedures and policies is security. Eglin AFB is a
major player in the defense of our country, as such, security is
important. Access to Eglin is not a right, but a privilege that
may be revoked at any time to one, or all members who are not also
military members. In order to get routine access, Eglin AFB Pass
and ID supplies to us the proper passes and ID cards necessary to gain
entry to the base, our building, and all support facilities CAP is
authorized use. In order to obtain these documents, you must
maintain your membership in CAP and an assignment at the Eglin Composite
Squadron. During the application process, a temporary pass may be
issued, pending approval of your membership.
Army and Air Force Exchange Access (AAFES) on Eglin AFB
Eglin AFB has been very supportive of CAP and the missions we
support. Further, Eglin AFB has provided local support to Eglin
Composite Squadron that is critical to our operations including building
facilities, phones, and other support services. Eglin AFB also
recognizes that other units may not have access to exchange facilities
as there may be no Air Force base near them. So that other units
can utilize Eglin's exchange services, thrift store, or Airman's attic,
Eglin AFB allows CAP members on base providing the following documents
are presented and conditions met:
- Current CAP ID card and a
picture ID.
- Eglin AFB is a secure DoD installation and
security on the base is tight. While on base, travel directly
to and from the faculties or services that will be used.
Please, no side trips or exploring of the base.
- Non military CAP members do not
have base escort (sponsor) privileges. Only CAP members are
authorized access to Eglin AFB. Cadets may not
escort parents onto the base. Cadets must
have a form of picture ID with them and if not a licensed driver,
must have a licensed driver (who must also be a CAP member) with
them.
